My dad had the local lumber yard
build a shell. The shell doesn't
have a floor or a seat inside.
This is a floor and seat that my
dad and I built about a year ago
as a part of our original effort
to build an outhouse.
We had to disassemble the work
we did to fit together the shell
and our base.
Here our floor has now been added
to the outhouse shell. Can you
feel the excitement building?
Now we (and by that I mean pop)
set out to add in the seat.
Naturally our original work has
to been completely taken apart
and the modified to fit into the
shell.
Here we have the front and back
beams for the seat in place. I
put the old top inside (it is slanted)
to show how it is too big to be
used now (so we trim it with the
saw.)

My version of working. I am
actually sitting on the board so
my father can cut it to length.
