We took the "cog" railroad to the top of Mount Washington
The coal fired steam engine is mounted at an angle to allow it to make the steep accends required to climb the moutain.
The cog runs over the third rail in the center of the track.
it pushes the passenger car up the moutain
steam comming out along the bottom of the engine.
People getting aboard
This is the emergency repair vehicle.
A typical view inside the passenger car
lots of coal smoke is always coming off the train
Finally the top.

You can see the opposite moutain has lots of ski trails on it.

Me
Very windy at the top.

The top is always windy and cold. Too high for trees.

Some views
Nice place for antennas
A typical camping breakfast starts off by finding a breakfast place and having coffee.
We stop at a "scenic overlook" to enjoy the view and walk the dog.
