These photos are from a trip to Stringer Brook. Grandsons, Liam and Max wanted to bring along some insect and animal collection devices but carrying them proved too troublesome. They were left by the side of the road for pickup later. After 1/4 mile we arrived at the brook. Short but heavy rain and sun showers pounded us for about 15 minutes. Liam wasn't felling strong enough to continue on so he went back to the farm house with Bobby. Max and I continued another quarter mile to the slate part of the stream. We were there for somewhere around an hour. Max would have happily spent the whole day there throwing sticks, rocks, and leaves into the stream and chasing water spiders. He reluctantly left.
